    Sports Technology Awards: the winners The inaugural Sports Technology Awards celebrated the very best in technological innovation – from major corporations to small start-ups

    Four hundred people representing the best in technological innovation gathered in London’s Brewery last week to celebrate the first Sports Technology Awards.
    Technology shapes all aspects of sport, from clothing and training methods to the way we watch, and recognition of its impact has been long overdue.
    The awards, for which The Daily Telegraph is official consumer media partner, consisted of 20 categories covering such aspects as training, performance, apps, clothing, nutrition and more. Every winner underlined the quality of work being done throughout the sports technology sector.
    “In terms of the breadth and calibre of entries we couldn’t be more pleased,” says Rebecca Hopkins, managing director of sports agency ENS, co-organiser with R3.
    “It shows there’s an awful lot of great technology out there. There’s been some real David and Goliath battles between major corporations and small start-ups and in some cases David has won.”
